What Others Are Saying About Us

Selkirk Aviation loves to hear from our friends and customers about their experiences with our company. We take pride in the ability to make their airplanes the best they can be.

Here are what some of our friends wrote:

I purchased your baggage extension for our C182Q serial number 18266781 this spring and finally got it installed.

The installation took some time as we decided to move the Distance Measuring Equipment which was mounted behind the original factory bulkhead. This required making an new bracket and cutting two holes in your panel for the cables. It took a while but came out looking good. (See picture of extended baggage)

Since we both know that your baggage extension will be really good for holding sleeping bags we were pretty pleased. We even got a test flight to Mono Lake (see bottom picture).

We also both know that there are several sure fire ways to assure the weather, the most reliable way to get rain is to go camping, if you have had bad luck with this, you simply didn't bring small children along, small children can bring cold inclement weather for sure.

It seemed that since we had the plane, the nifty baggage extension, the small children.... that an IFR rating would be a good idea. (not to GO camping, but to come HOME). I started lessons. This exposed the first issue. When we installed the baggage extension, we lost the paperwork with the 337 form. next issue: the dme doesn't work! So after three exchange DME units from the avionics shop we pulled the old unit and bought a used
king dme that went in the front panel, no 13 lb box behind the extended baggage bulkhead. So now we can put 13 more pounds of camping gear in the plane.

I was hoping you had some scrap panel that I could glass in to the two holes we cut. I have west system epoxy, fillers, silica and glass tape, I just need some scrap to cut to fill the holes and I'll use the tape on the
backside, then fill the seams with balloons and repaint. I hope you had a good summer.

Camping at Mono Lake

I advertised my old hat shelf in the cessna owners magazine and have had several people call asking where to get the baggage extension, so no movement at all selling my old hat shelf (with tongue in cheek, i gave them your name). Then a fellow called today and wants to buy my hat shelf. He is going to use it to replace a missing hat shelf/rear cover bulkhead or as he put it, the ultimate baggage extension.
